Srinagar, Nov 04 (KNO): The higher reaches of Kashmir, including Gulmarg and Sonamarg, received light snowfall on Tuesday while the gusty winds continued at multiple places, including Srinagar, with the weatherman predicting more rains and snow till tomorrow. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), multiple areas across Kashmir, including Gurez Valley, Razdan Top, Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Farkin Top and Doodhpathr,i experienced light snowfall this afternoon. The gusty winds, however, continued for almost an hour in the afternoon today at several places, including Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. In the evening hours, Srinagar and other parts of the valley were lashed by the rains, bringing the temperature further down in Kashmir. As per the forecast issued on Monday, Director Meteorological (MeT) department, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad stated that the weather will remain generally cloudy on November 5 while there is a possibility of light to moderate rain or snowfall (over higher reaches) at many places across Kashmir division and at scattered locations in Jammu division, particularly during the evening of November 4 to the early morning of November 5. The dry weather conditions would prevail once again from November 6 to 15, he said. He had also stated that the maximum as well as the minimum temperatures are expected to plummet from tomorrow (November 5) onwards—(KNO)
